The Blue Fairy Book by Andrew Lang. Fabulous & large 2003 hardcover with slipcase. The slipcase has slight scuffing but the book itself is in beautiful like-new condition! Blue cloth cover & spine with gilded text & folk art images. 17 colour illustrations inside & 28 line drawings by Charles Van Sandwyk. Intro by Joan Aiken. Published by The Folio Society, this is a First Edition of this gorgeous version. The collective was first published in 1889. Compiled by this Scottish historian, poet, novelist, & literary critic, his compilations are known as one of the most important collections of folk & fairy tales. The stories he edited are from around the world, and include The Brothers Grimm, Norse tales, Arabian Nights, & Madame d’Aulnoy, among others.
