The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam, 1970’s edition. A passionate poem about romance, love, & seizing the day, with the message of carpe diem. Originally Persian, translated into English by Edward Fitzgerald in the 1800’s. This is said to be a huge literary influence & one of the top ten most known poems in the world. With 20 colour plates of gorgeous illustrations by Edmund Dulac. Aged dust jacket, slightly aged gilded fabric cover, but the pages and binding are in great condition. Published by Weathervane
